May 5th-9th Annual Trip to DR

The Christ School brought the largest group in their history of serving this year. Fifty-seven students, parents, faculty and staff traveled to Mission Emanuel for the fifth year. This year’s group was bursting with excitement. They had heard stories from past participants and were incredibly excited to finally get to experience the wonderful joy that is abundant at Mission Emanuel.

The group got to work quickly on Lenny’s house. With this large of a group, they were able to make a very efficient bucket line transporting freshly mixed concrete to all areas of the house to lay the floor.

The students took turns mixing cement. Boys and girls alike were excited to get their hands dirty with a little hard work!

The students had a blast learning about the Dominican culture and enjoying authentic Dominican cuisine. The dancing lessons were an added bonus for some of our students and parents. TCS students have got rhythm!

Evening devotionals started with student-led praise and worship. Three students blessed the group by sharing their musical gifts. These students have led worship at their school the entire year and we were blessed to have them unite our group each day.

After a history lesson on the founding of the school in Nazaret, the eighth grade students from The Christ School mingled with the eighth grade students from the school. They played games and got to make new friends. The Christ School students were happy to present the Nazaret students with personalized Bibles.
