Mission Emanuel Celebrates 20th Anniversary

While I am glad that we have a special holiday to celebrate everything and everybody that we are thankful for, as Christians, we celebrate God’s grace and provision all year round. And here at Mission Emanuel, we now have a 20 year history to add to our reasons for celebration.

I wish you could have been with us for the celebration service and ribbon cutting for our new community center. Here is a picture of the front of the building taken during the ceremony to officially dedicate it to God’s glory and His kingdom. This gymnasium will be used by our own ministry team in cooperation with Young Life to reach young Dominicans with the Gospel.

It was an amazing time, attended by 90+ of our friends and supporters from the US and 300+ Dominicans, many of which have been recipients of the Mission‘s services. Our combined celebration was a precious time as we sang praises to our Lord and heard some absolutely wonderful testimonies of thanksgiving for how God has used MissionEmanuel to minister in a myriad of ways. To God be the glory!

I invite you to join in the celebration as it continues with a special contribution of thanksgiving to Mission Emanuel. The most difficult area for us to raise money is in our General Operations Fund. It may not be as compelling as the need to provide pure water to prevent disease or medical treatment or even a wheelchair to a severely handicapped child, however, our General Operations Fund pays the cost of infrastructure to keep everything going. It coordinates the work of the Water Plant and distribution system, the Medical Center with the Pediatric Clinic, Dental Clinic and Physical Therapy Clinic, our school system with around 600 precious children learning in a Christ centered environment, and our wheelchair factory (Chariots of Cielo) which distributes therapeutic wheelchairs to children.

Please prayerfully consider helping us maintain our ministry funds with a special Thanksgiving donation.

“Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven (“Cielo”), where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
