Mission Emanuel Open Trip to the Dominican Republic

Arriving Saturday, October 18 and departing Saturday, October 25, 2014

We are excited to have you on (or considering) the Annual Open Trip this fall. This page outlines details regarding trip preparation. In addition, you may have your own team planning meetings prior to the trip.

Ground cost = $1215 per person based on deluxe floor, double occupancy rooms (Single or triple occupancy and/or different dates are available upon request, but changes in cost will occur. Please consult me to discuss those options. If you have a family with small children, please contact me to discuss as well.)

This cost includes all ground costs and fees for the 8 days/7 nights you will be in the DR. Hotel stay, meals, ground transportation are all provided. However, this does not include airfare, meals while traveling, travel insurance, tourist fees, passport fees, or extra spending money. Please consult with Holly Lewis regarding rooming arrangements. Families with children under age 12 may qualify for a discounted rate depending on their rooming preferences.

Participants are responsible for booking their own airfare. I am happy to help with suggestions. If you prefer to use a travel agent, I highly recommend Julie Hinkle with Panders and Shipp (jhinkle@pandersandshipp.com, 336.655.3582). You will be flying into Las Americas International Airport (SDQ). American Airlines, Continental/Copa, Delta, JetBlue, Spirit, and US Airways fly into Santo Domingo. If possible, please try to make your arrival to the DR between the hours of 12-6pm. As soon as you book your flight, I need an emailed copy of the complete itinerary in order to put you on the pickup schedule. Mission Emanuel staff will greet you at the airport upon your arrival.

Deposits and trip registrations are due August 8, 2014. We require a $150 non-refundable deposit for each trip participant. Balances are due Friday, October 3rd, 2014. All payments may be made to Mission Emanuel. To register for the trip, go online to http://bit.ly/MEtripapp2014 and complete the application. Please note you will need your passport and medical insurance information on hand when you register.
Each participant is also required to have travel insurance. You can purchase coverage through the Mission Emanuel plan provided by Seven Corners. The cost is ~$2 per person per day. Go to http://bit.ly/ME7Cins to purchase online with a credit card.
