Mission Emanuel

We realize your interest in Summer Staff is based on your previous experience with Mission Emanuel through week-long trips. The key difference in spending a month in the Dominican on Summer Staff is endurance. It takes a tremendous commitment to give four weeks of unpaid service to the ministry in Cielo and Nazaret, as well as committing to in-depth spiritual discipleship during those weeks.

Important Dates for this years Summer Staff:

The first group arrives on May 29th, so staff need to be in the DR by the 28th.  However, exceptions will be made as certain school schedules permit.

The last group departs on June 26th.  This summer, Mission Emanuel will be hosting 4 weeks of groups.  Applicants must be able to stay the full term.

Any college student (or college grad) who has been on a one-week mission trip with Mission Emanuel is eligible for a month-long internship in June.  You must contact us before April 1, 2010 at the above address to discuss your proposal, which should include the area or focus of ministry you wish to devote your month.  This focus must include opportunities for other Americans to participate throughout the month as this will enhance the Dominican-American relationships that Mission Emanuel regards as priority. All interns are supervised by one of the Mission Emanuel staff and they participate in all Summer Staff meetings.
