Zika Prevention

The following post is from Carlos Caceres, uno de nuestros gerentes de personal en la República Dominicana y habla de trabajo comunitario reciente en el tratamiento de la posible brote del virus Zika. Stay up to date on our ongoing fight to prevent the disease.

Last Wednesday was a big day, where Mission Emanuel medical clinic team alongside with The Department of Health coordinate the prevention operation against Zika virus. Un grupo de 32 las personas que incluían personal de la Misión Emanuel, volunteers, volunteers from Cielo church and also from Cielo community went out to the community and delivered Clorox, repelentes, y mosquiteros.

It was a good opportunity for our staff and the volunteers to spend sometime chatting with people from the community and share with them how to avoid Zika virus from spreading in our community. Thank God we don’t have any registered cases of Zika in Cielo or in the Bayona neighborhoods.

Yamilca from the Department of Health said: “Mission Emanuel is a blessing for Cielo community and for us. If we could find a ministry like Mission Emanuel in the others communities, we could become a better country.”

También es importante saber que el Departamento de Salud Pública Dominicana fumigar toda la zona para librar a la comunidad de los mosquitos. Ver fotos de abajo.
