The Wise Men Got It Right!
And they came into the house and saw the young child with Mary his mother; and they fell down and worshipped him; and opening their treasures they offered unto him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.
Matthew 2:11
Upon coming into the presence of the Christ Child, the wise men worshipped Jesus and presented Him with their treasures. I believe all of us reading this would have done the same thing, given the opportunity.
Is that opportunity lost because we weren’t present some 2,000 years ago? Not in the least!
It was this same child, now grown up and worshipped as God’s own Son, the Messiah, that said: ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25:40
Every hour you spent on a mission trip, every dollar you have given through Mission Emanuel, and every prayer you have uttered have been gifts to Jesus Himself. Your gifts have brought healing, love, and hope to the children and their families of the Cielo and Nazaret communities and beyond. We praise God for your generosity and thank you for “getting it right”, too.
An end of the year gift to Mission Emanuel will help guarantee that this work to the “overlooked and ignored” will continue into 2016 and beyond. Our staff of dedicated Dominican servants is there every day among those of whom Christ spoke.
EVERY DAY children are being loved and cared for in our schools and on our playgrounds.
EVERY DAY pure water is dispensed to ward off disease and to facilitate exponentially better health.
EVERY DAY our medical, dental, and physical therapy clinics bring healing and hope.
EVERY DAY physically disabled children are able to be comfortably seated and have mobility in a Mission Emanuel wheelchair.
